Dr. William Yi is a board-certified general surgeon from Los Angeles, California. He joins us after completing general residency at Georgetown-WHC and 4 years in private practice. Motivated by a desire to be involved in medical education and innovation, he has gone on to receive a Masters in Education and worked in the last two years to revamp the surgical simulation program at Penn. Most recently he has taken on the roll of Co-PD in the Department of Surgery at VinUniversity in Hanoi, Vietnam. In collaboration with computer scientists and members of Penn Simulation Center he is developing a virtual reality surgical simulation platform.
